Simply... a Daisy!

I have been wanting this simple daisy stamp for such a long time but... something always kept me from ordering it. Not sure why because I LOVED it!! I think it must have been the excitement of new stamps and I just couldn't resist ordering them first. This stamp is from Asela Hopkins set, "Flowers for Daisy" available at Gina K Designs. I saw a card made with it the other day... yet again... and I just stopped what I was doing and ordered it! Enough, already, huh???

I stamped my image and did some shading on it and then realized I was going to cut it out so... I just cut around the shading to see how I liked it. Not bad... but not sure I'd do it again this way.

My base card is from Gina K's Pure Luxury Card Stock Heavy Weight, "Innocent Pink". I added a layer of the Paper Temptress', White Pearl Linen and used my Cuttlebug to emboss the Swiss Dots on it. This paper does such a nice job of just adding a touch of shimmer to a card and I really like the light linen emboss of it.

My ribbon is from Gina's newest ribbon assortment, "Romance". So many nice colors to choose from in that batch... perfect for Valentine's Day!!! (Which is only a few days away... don't forget!)

Have a great day and if you need to... hurry out and get that Valentine's gift! *smile*

Organizing My Darling Hubby...

Try as I might... this isn't always easy.. hee hee. But... I couldn't resist giving it another shot. Gina K has a wonderful video on how to make this awesome organizer box from a KLEENEX box!!! Can you believe it??? I loved making this and thought it may seem like lots of steps... it was soooooooo easy!!! You really must give it a shot.

I designed my husband's organizer using this scull and crossbones DP I found in my stash. He was in the Navy for 20 years and he has really liked what I picked.

The new Stamp TV Kit, "Organize It" has wonderful tab options to use on the folders inside. I used the Bills, Mail and Receipts stamps for my project. Not only are there plenty in the set, but Gina also offered another set for FREE over on Stamp TV. Just look under the "Freebies" tab and download them for even more possibilities.

I plan to make another organizer to sit on my kitchen counter. It could use a good clean up as well. I'll post it once I finish.

Gina is making a lot of wonderful gift ideas and useful items with this great Stamp TV Kit so be sure and look them up every Wednesday under the "Videos" tab. You're sure to find something you will love.

Have a great day! *smile*

Just Believe...

For today's post I am so excited to share the card I submitted for Stamp TV's, Sketch Challenge, last Thursday and WON!!! WooHoo!!! I won a free stamp set from Gina K Designs and I admit... there are VERY few that I don't have... hee hee.

My stamps were from the Stamp TV Kit, "Organize It". I LOVE this set and know I will be using it over and over again. Not only for myself, but for gifts that I create for others. AND... the fun doesn't stop with the "Organize It" kit... Gina also offered up a FREE set of label words on the Freebies page to add to our many labels. Thank you Gina!!!

I used my oval Nestabilities and the scalloped oval to make my base for my stamped images. the butterflies I colored with my Copic markers and then cut out and mounted with the wings uplifted to add dimension.

I layed three lengths of ribbon down the middle and then lace on each side. My card base was Gina K's Pure Luxury Design Heavy Weight Ocean Mist card stock. LOVE that color!! I sponged around my Nestabililities to add some color for the oval.

I am soooo looking forward to the new stamps that Gina K will be releasing next Thursday at the Release Party over on Splitcoaststampers. Hope you join us!!!

Butter and Jam, please...

OMGosh... I have to say... I LOVE this card!! LOL Not so much for the design or anything... but simply because of the toaster in checked pattern!!! HA

I did this card for an Inspiration Challenge that Gina K posted over on Stamp TV. She showed us a bag with a checked pattern on it and asked us to make a card based on the inspiration we got from it I love checks and went with the paper to do my card. I used Rupa Shevde's, "Sung from the Heart" set for the toaster and sentiment.

I paper pieced the checked pattern on the toaster and used my Sakura Glitter pens to color in the heart on the bread and the handle of the toaster. I also used the black gel Sakura pen for the slit in the toaster and the heat indicator.

For my background I used my Cuttlebug Heart Blocks embossing folder. My heart was cut using my scalloped heart Nestabilities and I used it to act as a stencil to add color to the inside of the heart. I actually cut it out twice and used one to cover it and add color around the outside of the heart as well. This way, I still have my small ivory border around the heart... just enough to separate the color on each side.

I think I will add this to my stash of cards I have for Valentines that I am planning to put in my Card Box I created using Gina's wonderful video example and give to my daughter's teacher.

You really should stop over to Stamp TV. There is so much inspiration and examples there that you would be hard pressed to lose your mojo after seeing all it has to offer.

Have a great day and... stay warm.. hee hee. *smile*

A New Baby Is Coming!!

Isn't the arrival of a new baby an exciting time??? I made this card for a friend of mine who is actually (ready for this?) my niece's room mate's mom who lives in New York. That's a mouthful!! Ha Ligia (pronounced lee-hee-uh) just found out her older daughter is expecting and this will be Ligia's FIRST grand baby!!! I think sometimes it's more exciting for a first grandma than it is a mom-to-be! *smile*

Obviously, Ligia called MY mom to tell her the good news. She has been here to visit us a few times along with her daughter and my niece. We have all become very close and we share in her wonderful news. Since she doesn't know the sex, I wanted to go with a neutral color to congratulate her on her fun news.

I used Gina K's, "How Sweet It Is" set on the outside. I LOVE this stork and this was yet another set I had been putting off getting for a long time. The last time I saw a card made with it I decided, enough, I ordered it..... finally!!

For my layering sheet I used the Paper Temptress' Marbled White Vellum. I LOVE this vellum. It reminds me of clouds and I thought it was perfect for the stork image. The yellow layer is also from the PT and is from the Ruche, Yellow Crepe.

On the inside of my card I wanted to leave a small "impression" of what it would be like to hold that little baby the first time... *smile*. I used Melanie Muenchinger's, "Hand in Hand" for the image and the sentiment. I LOVE this set!!!

OMGosh... I can just hear Ligia's excitement now when she sees that bundle of love for the very first time and I can just imagine her HUGE smile. I'm so very happy for her AND the mom-to-be!!!

Have a great day and go hold a baby, if you can. I sure would though I am NOT allowed to anymore... (according to my hubby who thinks I'll want more!) LOL. *smile*

Rustic Day...

Feeling kinda rustic??? I was... or was that rusty??? LOL Either way... I decided to "get down to earth".

I created my card using Asela Hopkins, "Fruitful Harvest" from Gina K Designs. I had been putting purchasing this set off for soooo long. I was so afraid to try to color the fruit. I just didn't think I could get them to look anything like REAL fruit. LOL And, if this pear doesn't look right to you... well... all I can say is... it's ripe! LOL

I used Gina K's Pure Luxury Heavy Weight Kraft paper for my base. For the layer, I used Paper Temptress' Colored Brown Bag Kraft in Olive. I took the colored kraft and wrinkled it up in my hands until I had just the right amount of creases and wrinkles in it. Then I smoothed it out and ran my sanding block over it to bring out the brown underside and make it appear even more worn. I used my distressing tool to rough up the edges as well.

My images were colored with my Copic markers and I used my Nestabilities Deckled Rectangles to emboss and also used it as a stencil to add some sponged Vivid Ink, Tuscan Tan, to create a bit of color around my image.

A bit of twine wrapped around the card and there ya have it. Something I'd expect to find at a "pear" orchard... dontcha think?? *smile*

I also wanted to mention that the Colored Brown Kraft paper has color on one side and the usual brown bag color on the other. It also comes in five colors!! This is just wonderful for needing a bit of underside showing as well or to add dimension to your card by roughing it up like I did here.

On the inside of my card, I used another paper from the Paper Temptress. The Striped Vellum called Sandy Stripes. I wanted this paper to0 look a bit worn as well and since it's hard to use a distressing tool on it without actually cutting it or making slits in it.. I sprayed it with a mist of water after I added a few splotches of ink on it. Not much... just enough to make it look a little worn. (I hope.. hee hee.) I couldn't quite get a good picture of this but in real life... the sentiment is clear and not blurry.

Have a great day and if you feel you can't do something well enough... remember... you never know until you try and most times we are harder on ourselves than we need to be. This is a hard lesson for ME to learn as well. But try... what can you lose by trying??? *smile*

Any Occassion Card...

Today I wanted to do a card that could easily convert to any occasion or... simply be used as a "note card". I think this design would be perfect for a set of cards to give as a nice boxed up gift.

I started with Gina K's, "Tropical Windows" and stamped in Versamark then heat embossed in black. My image was stamped on Alpine Aster from the Glimmer line at the Paper Temptress. I also used the new White Pearl Linen as my background panel which I embossed using my Swiss Dots folder and Cuttlebug. I wish you could see this in real life.. it's so shimmery and elegant.

My base card stock is from Gina K's Pure Luxury Card Stock, Vibrant Violet.

On the inside of my card I simply used another piece of the Alpine Aster and a few punched swirls leaving it without a sentiment. This way... I can either stamp a quick sentiment inside if I want or... leave it as a clean and simple slate to write a note on.

I think anyone would love receiving a clean and simple designed set of cards for their own private stash.

Have a great day!! *smile*

Sing it With Me!

Come on.. you know when you read the sentiment on this card you had that song go thru your head and you just wanted to sing it out loud, didn't you???? I did!! LOL And I was sooo happy no one was around! Hee Hee Rupa Shevde's newest set, "Sung from the Heart" has so many fun sentiments and songs and I just get happy using them!!!

Once again I got brave and decided to try that Copic Airbrush System out. Well... ya know... Ha! I can't ever be accused of quitting, huh? I used my Copic markers to color the hearts floating out of the envelope.

For the sentiment I used my Memento Pear Tart ink to sponge over it while it was still in the Nestabilities. I love how that looks. I also added a few tiny pearls to the ends of the tag.

My DP is actually from a paper pack I got while at Hobby Lobby one day and is from a "baby girls" selection. I found lots of cute soft designs in it besides just baby prints so I had to have it!

Thanks for taking the time to stop by and have a great day! *smile*

Love Drops...

I am having so much fun with Rupa Shevde's newest stamps, "Sung from the Heart".

I paper pieced the umbrella and added some color to the hearts using my Sakura Glitter Pens and also used them on the hearts hanging from the handle. The hearts I stamped as if they were pouring down onto the umbrella and colored them with my Copic markers.

I added a simple strip of DP and some of Gina's Pure Luxury Creme de Menthe paper and a button from the new Romance Collection.

I didn't show the inside but I punched out a couple of those wonderful new heart punches available at Gina K to accent the inside of my card. These are just awesome punches and in great sizes!!

Are you ready for Valentine's Day??? Only a couple weeks away! I think this is one of the cards I'm going to put in my "Memory Box" ( Click and you can see Gina's video on how to make these) I plan to give to my daughter's teacher. Just a small supply of cards she can give away.

Sweeeeeet Surprise!!!

Today my kitty from Theresa Momber's, "Purrr-fectly Delightful" set has found a sweeeet surprise lurking on the counter! Hee Hee

Now I tried really hard to make my DP "appear" to be a counter complete with a line of "caulking" across the back but... somehow... I wasn't crazy with how it turned out. I used Liquid Applique and honestly... once you have it down... uhhh... don't try to take it up. LOL So, we'll just go with it because regardless of the nasty caulk job, I like the card. *smile*

I stamped the jars onto DP and cut them out. I took the top off one and left the spoon inside then propped it up then added my little mouse coming out with his own shock at seeing the cat all ready to pounce.

This set has been so much fun for me and I hope you stop over to StampTV and see all the other wonderful creations created by members in the gallery.

Have a great day! *smile*

Inspired Get Well Wishes

My card today was inspired by a photo Gina K. posted on StampTV for the Inspiration Challenge. Appropriate name, huh? *smile*

I used Melanie Muenchinger's, "Square Pegs" set for the leaf and the sentiment. Did a bit of faux stitching around the leave and added some DP from various Paper Packs available at Gina K Designs. My punch is a MS design and I always forget I have it.

Though I don't think the picture here did justice to the card... there seemed to be more red showing... it sure showed off the ribbon color!!! LOL

I hope you hop on over to STV. There is always great inspiration there and fun challenges. And remember, every time you enter a challenge you get a chance at a FREE stamp set valued at $24.95 or less... your choice!! What's not to love about that???!!!!

Have a great day! *smile*
